Mesh is a durable but flexible product that can be used as the internal structure layer of plaster. Under a mechanical stress and at different temperature and humidity, it provides an excellent protection layer for plastering. It has a high resistance to wear and can withstand heavy loads as well.

Mesh is often used for internal and external plastering. It can also be used for the installation of acoustic insulation and thermal insulation materials, waterproofing and the joining of wall doorframes. Mesh is also extensively used to protect the facades of structures and buildings. Self-adhesive fiberglass mesh can be used in places where door frames and windows are connected to the wall, or in the edges of ceiling or drywall.

Types of Mesh:

There are different types of meshes suitable for different applications: Welded wire mesh, expanded metal mesh, copper wire mesh, galvanized stainless steel wire mesh, self-adhesive fiberglass mesh, chicken wire mesh, and woven wire mesh. Each type of mesh has different physical and mechanical properties. Fiberglass Mesh:

Fiberglass mesh is one of the most common meshes used in various applications. It is made of glass fiber that is filled with an alkaline dispersion which increases its resistance to tearing. Fiberglass mesh is durable and is long lasting. It is much more effective to use when dealing with quick-dry finishing mixtures. A fiberglass mesh is ideal for internal construction as well as finishing work. Expanded Wire Mesh:

Welded wire mesh is also used in various drywall applications, but not more than the expanded metal. However, welded wire mesh is mostly used to make cages and fences in poultry and livestock.

With a hexagonal shape and twisted woven structure, chicken wire mesh is also a preferable choice for plastering. Although it is not better than welded and expanded wire mesh for plastering. It is flexible and can be used to various curved and angular surfaces.
